Despite being one of the largest and most intriguing structures in the city of Harrodsburg, Kentucky, the historic Mooreland Mansion, formerly known as Ashfeld Manor, has sat abandoned and open to the elements further deteriorating.
Property records reveal that the mansion sold on May 22, 2020 for $78,101. The structure and the 2.96 acres it sits on hit the market for $49,500 on April 18, 2020 and just four days later was labelled as pending. The Romanesque Revival residence was built in 1891 by Colonel Daniel Lawson Moore for his wife, Miss Minnie Ball, and while the architect is unknown, the architecture has been compared to that of Clarke & Loomis.
The Mooreland Mansion previously sold at a foreclosure auction to a bank for $329,465. The most recent listing described the offering as a building site which includes a home. “Due to health and safety concerns, no one may enter the home.
